About Us

Jingles 1

Dogs Aid is a charity set up by three ladies in 1987 to help dogs that were unwanted and abandoned in Dublin, Ireland. Since then we have helped rehabilitate and rehome hundreds of dogs and cats. Dogs Aid has a no destruction policy so we never put a recoverable dog or cat down, and as a result the sanctuary is a permanent home for many forever dogs  that are “too old or too bold” to be rehomed. From time to time we also take care of other animals including rabbits, bats, birds, foxes, feral cats, hedgehogs etc.

Dogs Aid is entirely staffed by volunteers and entirely funded by public donations, and all of our money goes to help the animals. We are currently in the process of building a new sanctuary on our permanent site and look forward to moving the dogs to their new home later this year.

Our sanctuary aims to give the animals as normal a life as possible until they get rehomed, and we prefer them to spend most of the day playing in the grounds of the sanctuary rather than being cooped up in runs.

We can be contacted after 12pm on 087-2944310 or via email at info@DogsAid.ie . You can visit the sanctuary between 12pm and 4pm six days a week, only closed on a Tuesday.

Beautiful Lucy Staffie

Our beautiful girl went to Rainbow Bridge last week. Lucy had been left in the vets as a stray in 2015. She was fostered by Joanne and Glen and lived then with Jill. Last year Lucy was adopted by wonderful Mary. A special lady who saw Lucy's kind, devoted soul straight away. Lucy lived with Bruce Staffie there and she loved him. Lucy, we are heartbroken on the Dogs Aid Page but thank you for lighting up our lives and continuing to raise awareness of the BEAUTIFUL STAFFIE SPIRIT. Mary thank you. Lucy will be with you forever. Dogs Aid Fifi is still waiting for a home....💔 ... See MoreSee Less

Dogs Aid FIFI 🐶😍 Here at dogs aid we just cannot understand why our girl Fifi is still here. Fifi is a gentle beauty. Fifi had a very hard start to life. She came to dogs aid sanctuary with her sister as a nervous and timid little girl. Slowly but surely our girl has grown in confidence. Fifi is a loving and gentle beauty who sits in her basket waiting for someone to come along and notice her. She is starting to wonder if it will ever happen. Volunteers reassure Fifi that her time will come and someone special will arrive in the sanctuary just for her very soon! She has seen so many of her friends come and go. Please don't forget about our wonderful Fifi ❤ Fifi is a 18 month old jack Russell. Please contact Maggie in Dogs aid to meet our beautiful Fifi 🐶❤
