Just thought I would let you know how Finn (Peace) is getting on, it’s nearly a year since we adopted him from Dogs Aid. He was destructive little rascal at first but he soon grew out of it. He has a great character and gives us endless hours of amusement like the day he ran in the front door chasing a ball and came back with a bunch of bananas! He is living with me in Cork now where he goes for a woodland run in the mornings & beach walk in the evenings. He loves the car & comes home to meath with me regularly which he loves for many reasons but i’m sure one of them is my dad dipping his finger into his irish whiskey & letting Finn lick it off but he doesn’t like whiskey in the morning though as dad found out recently when trying to show off to some visitors!
He’s lying at my feet at the moment with his hind leg in a bandage, he had stitches today for a gash on his leg caused by barbed wire. Vets bills are not cheap as i found out today but are just part & parcel of being a dog owner.
I would strongly urge anyone getting a dog to visit Dogs Aid, I went to a number of pounds before finding them. They made it their duty to know as much possible history, temperament & suitability of their dogs to enable them to give the dogs the best homes possible. They really couldn’t have been better
